The big lead up to the Indy 500 started yesterday with Qualifying. It didn’t go too well. There were two horrible crashes but the drivers were able to walk away! They even tried to qualify in their back-up cars, but weren’t successful. Today they have a second chance, but there is a major storm going to sit over Indianapolis all afternoon. So who knows if they’ll get into the race for next week end.
Can you believe we’re still burning our wood stove? It was only 45 yesterday, with the same for today. But, we did get a bunch of rain yesterday. In fact, for about 1/2 hour it SNOWED!!!! This is May, not February!
Still no cabinets installed. The parts they needed did not come in until after noon, so they postponed until today. I just got a call from the installer, and he’s making a quick stop at Home Depot for dishwasher hoses and will be here within the hour. Michael the skeptic says that means probably around noon. We’ll see. In the meantime I’m off to church.
We got our new headboard put together yesterday and it looks really nice. I am getting tired of building furniture, though. Still 2 nightstands, 4 dining chairs and some cat furniture to go. We bought a tall cat tree, some “hang on the wall” type perches and a kitty bridge to go between the two high shelves in the hall.
Jan: I see you are having the joys of remodeling where nothing goes according to schedule. This is “Murphy’s Law” that says “If something can go wrong, it will”.
Good afternoon Vagabonds.Guess what, we were supposed to have a nice day like yesterday but the rain showed up the middle of the morning. Now it is just a cloudy, windy day.
The temp started out at 63 and one hour later it was 55.
And like you Rita. we have our heat going on in the morning although we probably have ours at a higher temp than you do.
Barbara likes a warm house. She says at her age she deserves it.
Oh, the sun just popped out. For how long, who knows.
