Wish I could have said that to my mom. The older I got the more I appreciated her treating me like a kid.

That was pretty sweet. Sometimes it would be nice to get to know our parents as adults and peers.

I don’t think I want to know. I’d rather remember my parents as the superheros they were. That may not be the reality, but in a child’s eyes, they were no less.

^ jkoskov, that’s such a wonderful way to think of your parents! So many people do little but blame parents for their own inadequacy. Thanks for the pearls of wisdom.

    It’s a ‘Mom’ thing.

I deal with our son on a man to man basis. My wife is just like John’s mom, and our son enjoys it-to a point.

Oh, I LOVE Lynn’s comments on her site!

In retrospect my own children were adorable, bright, funny and respectful. Most of the time. Set well into the recesses of aging memory are the times we would gladly have drop kicked them off a bridge and rejoiced in the sound of the SPLASH below!

I’m not getting older. It’s just that everyone around me is getting younger.

I think I’d take that deal!

I noticed that John IS wearing the scarf.

Trust me, John, you really, really don’t want your mother to stop getting older!

I had a fine long phone call with my 2nd son today (his 50th birthday tomorrow) and discussed various things. It is good to identify with your kids as adults when they are. I called his older brother on his birthday last month. Both live in nearby states but not close enough to see them regularly. They know that I’m eating healthy and now maintaining my fitness with weight routines.
