Not to justify Jussie’s actions— but lest we forget, this country has a long and sad history of whites falsely claiming that they were mugged or raped by blacks and done either maliciously, for attention, or in order to cover up crimes and other misdeeds. This occurs because the latent racism in our society enables the majority to easily believe these lies. Now that the me-too movement and the numerous cases of actual racism, hate crimes, and police brutality have drawn some attention to these acts, it’s not completely unexpected that someone would take advantage of this attention. Its human nature that some of us all are selfish and corrupt. Jussie has shown himself to be just as bad as the whites described above, but no worse. Anyone telling lies against another for racial reasons is reprehensible and should be punished to the full extent of the law.

The damage this has caused is irreparable. How could he do such a thing? I’m still waiting on the final “verdict,” but it isn’t looking good.
