I seem to recall there was a football stadium full of Republican candidates as well trying for the 2016 election including some washed-up reality TV personality got into the mix and it’s been chaos ever since. Republicans had such better candidates to choose from and yet this was the best they could come up with? No wonder the party has been hijacked by the present occupant.
The reason many (most?) of these early announcers are in the race is not so much to win, but to bring attention to, or add support for, policies they want discussed during the debates and put on the party platform.
