    Reasoning for such activities varies from one cat or dog to another. I knew of a dog who would sniff a pan (empty, full, in between), look up at people and sometimes push the pan to another room, to the other end of the building, behind or under furniture, into closets. Judgements made according to their more acute senses are not mistakeable when seeing their expressions.
