When five-year-old Aretha moved into the Detroit (motor city; Motown) neighborhood of eight-year-old Smokey Robinson, who became a life long family friend, he reports he was immediately impressed with her enormous talent.
Tonight, Aretha, we ALL “say a little prayer for you.”
She has been around all of my life and thanks to her many recordings she will be around long after I’m gone. Respect is the perfect description of her life.
