Calls for civility are pretty worthless at this point. The GOP has set the current table where compromise is a dirty word and insults and threats are the currency of the day. The time for turning the other cheek is gone and the time for returning fire is now.
The past 10 years (at least) has been filled with lies, obfuscation, whataboutisms, false-narratives, empty declarations, and a defensive balk from conservatives as a base and platform for the christian conservatives and the GOP. We non-conservatives have never shied away from learning what, if anything, conservatives have to offer our country. Unfortunately, even the conservative base cannot tell you what exactly it is they support.
