This is funny, because the opposite is true. We have a glut of technical jobs that are going unfilled. This is because we two generations that have no tech skills at all. They know how to play with the tech toys, but no understanding how they work. We also have an older generation that is retiring with the tech skills needed in the job market. We have a shortage of engineering degrees in all fields, mechanical, electrical, aeronautical, and even computer system engineering. Sad but true.
