My dad told me about the desert survival training the US Navy sent him on. Two weeks with only the clothes on his back and a knife. He ate lizards and snakes and wound up having to carry the medic out because of a leg injury. He gained 5 pounds (he was a skinny guy back then) from the lizard and snake meat, which he loved. Mom wouldn’t let him feed any to us, though. She had NO sense of adventure with food.

The bigger the snake, the better to eat. There are lots of ribs to pull the meat from any snake you eat.
