PHANTOM: So we are going to make a break for it are we? Do you think it will happen before the end of next week?

REX MORGAN: What does Heather have to talk to Jordan about? It sounds so serious.

MARK TRAIL: Good old Mark did something without turning the world into a big mess.

MARY WORTH: I hope this is the end of this arc on Wilbur.

“Laucha” must be Argentine Spanish for “mouse/rat.”

JUDGE PARKER: An interesting reference to The Truman Show (1998 movie/one of my faves!).

GATURRO: “…they do not let you be a modern cat.” (gato moderno)

MARY WORTH: Wilbur’s columns are back in the local papers. Dawn will soon come home from Italy. And, maybe…just maybe…Iris will return from the camping trip with the news that she and Zak will be going their separate ways. And…if/when all of this transpires, we will see Wilbur with a smile on his face because of the change in circumstances…not because he was able to rise above adversity.

CRANKSHAFT: The bank teller’s words in panel 2 explain the “Go Away” sign on the front door. This story arc portrays the “go away” attitude of banks and some other businesses in our so-called modern world. What the teller doesn’t get is that her employer, the bank, wants the bank’s customers to take over part of the teller’s job so they can lay off the teller. Is it a trick to get us (the customers) to do the work (for no pay) so the banks/businesses can lay off employees? Go Ed!!! :-)

CRANKSHAFT #2: Another look at Wednesday’s panel 1 reveals “the little triangles in the corner of the first frame, denoting that we should be thinking of it as a photo in an old-timey album,…” I missed the little black triangles when I read the strip on Wed. Thanks, Josh! (joshreads.com).

Mary Worth – Wilbur better get busy writing some new columns after his “lost weekend”.

Judge Parker – Is April really a sociopath, or is it her father’s influence?
