    Duck, if you read Lynn’s comments on her strips on the FBoFW website, you would know that this arc stems directly from a conversation she had with her teacher as a child.

    I’m with Teresa. I’ve taught that age group. You DON’T motivate a bright child by picking on him/her. You motivate by challenging. Children that age have a very strong sense of justice. When they get picked on for the same things other kids get away with, it just makes them resentful and less motivated.

    My seven year old grandaughter has that problem with her teacher. She is very smart and I guess this is the reachers way of “encouraging” her. Not working, for the first time ever, she hates school. The teacher used the words “work to her potential”, shes already reading three grades ahead of her grade; you get more flies with honey, not vinegar.
