I wouldn’t be so confident, Stuart. The only justice likely to retire in the next two years would be Justice Ginsburg, so President Obama would simply replace one less conservative justice with another.
Although the media lean rightward, I am surprised by the nastiness toward Obama at today’s press conference. He ain’t Nixon, after all.
I look forward to seeing how the Republicans organize themselves in House & Senate, and what they try to do. The Senate has several bills passed in the House and still waiting for a vote. Will the Senate’s Democrats move them forward, baiting the Republicans to filibuster, or will the Democrats continue to wimp out, even though they have less to lose?
What makes you think Brian, that our Obama has only two years left? The GOP has NO ONE! NO ONE! NO ONE! to run against Obama, and once the public once again sees how bad the GOP in Congress is unless you are Exxonmobil or Halliburton, the Democrats will pick up 80 seats in 2012! You heard it here first!
It’s said that the pen is mightier than the sword but that was said before Obama joined the round table. It’s a little too soon to gloat dontcha think?
Brian, I’m just hoping that some of the lame-duck Senators use the post-election session to vote their consciences, not just how McConnell tells them to vote.
Stuart, I loved one of the other ed. cartoons, in which the fat elephant sees a vote with a picket sign saying “Throw the bums out!” He asks “why are you still here? The election is over!” and the voter replies “I’m here for 2012.”

Too many people make judgements on the basis of symptoms, not cause.

Stuart & Wbr, it’s time to lessen the medication.
Good point, Trout. What will corporations want for winning this election for the Teapublicans?
