I’m not saying that I approve of Caulfield’s parents drinking themselves into a stupor to blot out memories of their pretentious, condescending son, but I understand.
I remember one New Year’s Eve we had friends and family over and had rented a hot tub. My brother in law and I were in the tub in well below zero weather and were I suppose acting a bit goofy. My daughter was looking at us through the patio door and I heard her say to my wife: “Mom, I think dad is drunk…” I think she nailed it…
Wait, Caulfield was left outside while his parents partied? No wonder he’s such a single-minded young man, if he has to care for himself that early. XD

Is that what’s meant by the term over-nighting?

And here I was thinking that the reason Caulfield wasn’t allowed back in the house was because of something HE did.

And a new year dawns, full of the old year baggage.

I don’t remember seeing Caulfield‘s eyes like this. I like them.
