So, my question is, based on the hacker stereotype…do we still call it white collar crime? No, it will be based on their headgear. White hats, black hats…

(they’d also be fewer cybercrimes if folks didn’t click on spammers’ links)

Folks also make it easier and easier for cyber thieves all the time through ignorance.

Just to expose this, look up “Firesheep”, an app for Firefox which anyone can use.

Next you log onto your FB (or other social networking site) via wifi, do remember how unsecure your link is. Better, make it more secure, run something that uses TSL or SSL which forces you to use HTTPS for your entire session, not just login. Better yet, don’t log onto anything on a public network. :-|

…and this ends today’s on-line safety public broadcast. You’re welcome.

    Ahem.

”Even Forced SSL is broken for Facebook Google Twitter”

So, yeah, don’t sign onto anything via wifi in a public place. :-|
