Yup. But back then, girls were icky…

I can’t recall if the rest of the boys ended up with partners they met in elementary school or not.

    Yup! fbjsr is right.

Lynn said that when she wrote this one, she didn’t know at the time that Mike and Deanna would end up together.

Anthony is the one who marries Elizabeth, after he’s married to Therese–who really doesn’t seem to want to be a wife or mother.

Embarassing your friends in front of the opposite sex was great entertainment in school. Oh good times… :-\

Some 7 year olds ARE like that. Just not most. My husband had a bunch of elementary school crushes. Just depends on the kid. Of course, it’s not quite the same kind of crush as the hormone induced kind…

You forgot Gordon and Tracey. Gord doesn’t have a love interest as a kid, though – with all the problems in his family he probably didn’t have time. The problems are never onstage, but there’s a time (maybe even in high school) where Gordon has to leave home and the Pattersons are very supportive. It’s then that Gord develops his relationship with (especially) Doctor Patterson, who later winds up bankrolling him when Gord buys the gas station.

Liz and Mike go through several partners before winding up with (one hopes) their true loves.

At that age, I had a “BF” with whom I ran races home from school (boys and girls were competetive- not romantic) but it was still fun.
