As a 58yo woman with NO money for such nonsense, I can assure you that it IS nonsense. Society (meaning whoever she decides to listen to instead of deciding for herself) may tell her a lot of crap, but if she picks a style and sticks with it for years, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.
I haven’t gotten a cut, trim, or style in over a decade because 1) it’s money better spent elsewhere, and 2) it’s having to sit still for 20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the style and stylist. Nobody treats me like a pariah, no one makes snide remarks – LIFE GOES ON!!
Idjit! It’s a lot better to have a happy wife than what the 60 bucks drains out of you. Don’t sound like yer complaining, Give her a compliment. Yer budget is tight? It’ll be a lot worse doing everything by yourself.
