Please note that, just because the military junta in Burma was removed and replaced with an ‘elected’ government, that does NOT automatically make their government all “peaches and cream!” A corollary to the U.S.A. at the present time would be that the military junta of Burma was trying to eliminate EVERYONE that was not like them, while the ‘elected’ government is just eliminating one ethnicity at a time (see the difference?) The people of Burma are experiencing a “frying pan & fire” event!
And, yes, I’m ‘old school’ enough that until the indigenous population of Burma votes to change their country’s name, It’s still Burma to me – and, yes, I DO know how to spell “Myanmar”, I just see no reason to do so. Just because my ‘crazy’ neighbor down the street starts telling everyone his name is not Henry, anymore, but is now “Jehovah”; that doesn’t mean I’m suddenly going to start calling him “God”!
