This is exactly what we have right now with the prez election.. polarized practically to death. It’s like the cold war all over again, but just here in USA.
Left/Right, Red/Blue - just spend some time reading the blogs on both sides. So many are trying to paint their perceived opponents as extremists they’ve forgotten the happy middle. There’s a guy who comments on the editorial cartoons a lot who thinks that an argument consists of name-calling. I must admit, he comes up with come creative derogations, but all he does is reveal his ignorance. We live in a world spoiled by the notion that a profound message can be delivered in ten seconds or with fifteen words (Ha! bet you didn’t read this far!).
