He gets the chance every second weekend. If mom could keep the snide hateful remarks to his dad to a minimum I am sure Louis would enjoy the time better, rather than wondering why his mom hates his dad whom he loves very much. Louis loves both parents.As a Scout leader I saw many youth from broken families. I had one boy who asked me why his parents hated each other. It obviously upset him a great deal. My co-leader, a mother, explained to him that sometimes parents grow apart yet always love their children. We had a river raft race that weekend and I called both parents and asked them to BOTH come to the race and cheer on their child…TOGETHER. They agreed. Truth be told, they enjoyed watching their child race a raft, and they actually SPOKE to each other. Their son was happy to see that, yet he said he knew they could not live together. From that point on, they always made a point of being pleasant to each other in his presence.

Hmmm! What’s up with Louis! Wonder what dad promised they would do on the next visit? I hate when this happens….anxiety…wonder….anticipation….
