I have multiple problems with something like this in that I live overseas and am often filling out the form for a U.S.-based site: I have a residential home number and I have a cell number. But both require an international prefix in order to be called from the states but the forms often don’t account for this or for phone numbers longer than ten digits. At least I don’t have these problems when entering my internet-based phone as a “home” number.

I have my land line phone now as a voip. I use that to direct the junk away from my cell phone.

I think the dumbest one is the pull down menu for states. Takes less time to type two letters than to scroll through.

…still have a landline, the cell is only used with the motorcycle and airplane. When it comes to putting phone numbers on forms I only used my work number, and now that I don’t have a job I refuse to provide any number. Where they won’t except the form without a number I just put down 970.999.9999 and let them figure it out. Helps to cut down on “spam” phone calls (though sadly, doesn’t eliminate them).
