You're probably planning my demise right now! You've probably got a gerbil lined up with little "Poncho II" nametags and everything! Chazz: Poncho, don't be ridiculous! I could never replace you! You're a part of me, and you'll be with me forever! Poncho: Hm. Chazz: Would you get a new owner if I died? Poncho: A dog's gotta eat.

Way to turn the tables, Chazz.
I know a couple of owners who have lost a dog and then gotten the same breed and given it the same name. It is hard to let go. But replacing Poncho with a gerbil, well, that might be an easy step.
