Makes me sick how no one on the left EVER calls for “tolerance” from islamic sympathizers. The fact that they refuse to move it as a gesture to offended families speaks volumes. Where are the cries to allow synagogues or Christian churches in predominantly muslim countries?

Tolerance for others beliefs is all well and good but you don’t allow rabid dogs to bed down in your living room. And it would be nice if those you are tolerating agreed to tolerate YOU as well. But as anyone who has actually studied Islam knows that “Ain’t gonna happen”.
Let’s compromise… They can have the mosque at ground zero, and then build a synagogue near the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca.

As for you senior, no one is saying that the muslims don’t have a right to build a mosque, only that it is in poor taste to build so close to ground zero.
It seems that the Muslims are not the only ones in the mideast with extremists who do not grasp the idea of freedom. They don’t understand that we in the US cherish the right to worship as we choose and not as extremists wish to dictate.
