It’s an election year, I think ‘ironic’ is definitely part of the vocabulary. I have never heard the expression ‘root cellar vocabulary’ but it is descriptive.
I remember when people pressed their pants, and shirts, and handkerchiefs, too! And wore belts!“Mom, what’s a handkerchief?”“It’s that thing you have tied around your head as a scarf.”
