If the kid takes absolutely no advice and does whatever he wants, he will grow up to be a time traveler, so these guys are skating on thin ice. They should all concentrate their efforts on convincing him to choose a better hat.

I would go back and tell my younger self to stick with the piano and to not blow off French. But I bet my younger self would still be a slacker.
