Scandal follows her because the “Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy” is a real thing. From the days of the first Clinton presidency, made-up scandals like Vince Foster, etc., and really ramped up in the last 8 years when it became clear she’d be the Democrats’ choice to succeed Obama. Not saying she doesn’t provide you guys with ammo with some of her clumsy moves, but give me a break. Reagan traded arms for hostages and illegally diverted money to the Contras; Bush cynically lied to start a war whose repercussions are still being felt, and they both got away scot-free.

Clinton is in good company with the Shrillary nickname. After Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin, there were a lot of pro-slavery parodies. Joseph Field pretended that his Tom parody was written by Mrs. Harriet Screecher Blow.
