Interesting, I just Googled speed limit signs in Mexico, and it appears they list units (such as km/hr or kph). In contrast, in the US, the signs are unitless.
@braindead – totally agree. The US needs to start criminalizing the hiring of illegal immigrants. Put a few owners in jail and you will see how fast that problem goes away on it’s own.
But we also need to significantly reduce the H1 Visa programs that help Corporations artificially hold down the wages of everyone. The government needs to stop buying into the argument – I can’t find anyone who can do the job at the very reasonable price I want to pay.
Eliminate the H1 visa programs and Corporations would be forced to invest in their employees.
Try inserting some facts into this discussion. Generally immigrants both legal and illegal have a very positive effect on our economy and quality of life. Here is one of a host of articles that provide some facts. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/17/illegal-immigration-econonomics_n_6700148.html
Free market capitalism depends on growth. Socialism not so much so. Maybe that’s the way we need to go.Indeed. With a little luck, maybe our standard of living will catch up with Cuba and Venezuela.
Despite the drug wars to supply American users, Lisa should be aware that green light is the one going BACK to Mexico in recent years? BREXIT maybe demonstrates it would have been wiser and more selective to have kept the Brits out in the first place?
Green lighting the migration back to South America after W let record immigrants into the country? Lowering the speed limit so they don’t come in so fast? This cartoon does not make sense considering how illegal immigration has gone down under Obama.
@Bar Pluc – The reason they are heading off to college when they have no business being there is because kids look around and see how little upward mobility there is for someone without a College degree.
If H1 Visas were shut down two things would occur that would improve the situation in America. Company’s would have to invest in employees and keep them happy (improved pay, benefits, vacation etc.) and High School graduates who shouldn’t be in college would, once again, be attracted to the trades where they have a much better chance of being successful. You would be able to find employees that could pass both tests but you would probably have to pay more for those employees.
Right now it’s a buyers market for employers. They can have their pick and if they don’t like the selection they whine to the government that no qualified applicants exist. One of the big reasons that the top 1% are doing so great and everyone else is languishing. The imbalance of power created by the H1 Visa program is destroying the middle class.
Immigration is about more then just the Illegal immigration. It’s about all immigration issues.

Lisa never has let facts get in the way of her political beliefs; one would think she’s KS Gov, Brownback in Drag!
