Funny thing: those of us who use British English call them ‘dummies’. US English call them ‘pacifiers’

So, kind of a nervous pacified dummy in charge?

In Norway, a pacifier is a smokk. I have no idea what the literal translation to English would be, but it sounds onomatopoeic.

Kim Jong Un has stated his country won’t use its nuclear weapons first unless its sovereignty is invaded. He is ready to improve ties with “hostile” nations, and called for more talks with rival South Korea to reduce misunderstanding and distrust between them. Kim has called for Seoul and Washington to stop their military drills and the US to withdraw the 28K troops stationed in South Korea. South Korea has stated the priority of any future talks with the North would be its denuclearization.
