Quite awhile ago I had a Maine Coon who was very protective of “our” cockatiels. They’d ride around on his back. If another cat approached, even though they were also part of our family, he would place himself between them and the birds, or would stand directly over the birds. He was not going to let anything happen to his little buddies!
