I never got money or anything else for the loss of a tooth.The tooth fairy didn’t visit poor kids living in homemade shacks.

I had my grandniece for a visit when she lost a tooth; luckily I had a golden Sacagawea dollar to give; until Mom told me the going rate was five!
Found an old letter from my HS graduation; I got a total of $35 (1981: $96 in 2016 dollars) from friends and family. For my nieces ten-ish years ago, we gave them each $100, just from us!
