As long as we’re talking fashion, it’s not just the height of the socks, it’s also the horizontal stripe around the top that’s decades out of style. Add in the length of the shorts and the shirts being tucked in and it’s obvious there’s a Hot Tub Time Machine angle to this whole sequence.
I enjoy Jennifer’s posts. It’s a sign of the maturity of Gil Thorp fans that we all take each other’s opinions on board. Some comics have fans that get very defensive about their strips.
