Isn’t it only boring people who complain about being bored?

Time for another getaway. An adventure even if it’s a campout in the back yard.

cdward - it’s people who are poor who are bored. My mother was on welfare, and we never went on vacation. I spent my summers cleaning the Becker’s Parking lot, and going to the said Becker’s for the pool lifeguards LOL. Oh, and till I was 5, I’d ride my Big Wheels then I rode my bike everywhere I could!

The summer I was 10, there was a big “Canada Post” strike, and I wanted to ‘see it’ (being naive as I was) so I rode my bike something like 20km (5km to the strike, 5km to a park near my old school, then 10km home)

Please tell me we are talking about “poor” creatively. Imagination knows no limitations regarding finances. Thank goodness. My checkbook knows all about limitations and finance.

I do worry about my grandkids. Seems like their whole lives are scripted. I have very fond memories of using a pack of baseball cards to create a whole league and i made a playable game with some dice and some bits of paper. I actually drew uniforms and everything. I wish like he dickens I still had all that stuff.

i don’t remember being bored either. of course, i had a degree of freedom that would be called neglect now. actually, i suspect that these kids won’t remember being bored when they are my age.

I read a lot of books I wouldn’t have read, when I was bored, but didn’t feel like working. (My parents were firm believers in child labor.) We had lots of books on our shelves, and I spent my small allowance buying more. Between libraries & garage sales, it doesn’t take much money to have interesting stuff to read.
