Take the money awards for police brutality and murder from the police pension fund instead of from the taxpayers and you’ll see this stuff stopped almost immediately. The “good cops” will stop protecting the “bad cops” when their pension is involved. Pass it on.

By the way, I do support honest police departments and call them officers rather than “cops”.

Cerabooge and jonesb, why should police officers who paid into their pension have their benefits taken away because some are too quick to pull the trigger? -The reason public pensions are underfunded is because they were mismanaged. Companies with pensions were mandated to fund the pensions at least 60%. Public pensions were exempt from this so politicians could pat themselves on the back for backing police and fire departments while they used the money elsewhere. Why should public employees have to pay the price for this dishonesty?-The “good cops cover for bad cops” meme has holes in it. First of all, the good cops can be reporting this to police management without action being taken. Secondly, read or watch Serpico. What actions do you recommend – going straight to the press?

Ohio is an “open carry” state. So, what crime did Tamir Rice break?Being underage and open carrying a toy gun?Being black and open carrying a toy gun?Open carrying a toy gun?

Let’s see, giving police officers, and everyone in the general public a gun with high capacity magazine, tell ’em “stand your ground” means cops AND civilians can make their neighborhoods, not just their homes, free-fire zones, and give their kids “toy” guns that look EXACTLY like the real weapons, and we can all expect Society to be more outgoing and friendly, relaxed, panic free, and safer to be around, as long as you have a bullet-proof vest, regardless your color (race or gang affiliation).

Poor little Tamir, his dying act was to tuck his toy gun in his belt and put on a dress shirt. If only he had had time to tie his tie!

Hmmmmm, Carrying a toy gun! I cannot think of anything more stupid in today’s world. Young kid’s should be taught that one does not carry a toy gun outside the house, byparents who are reasonably intelligent. Cops are jittery now days since so many have been shot for little or no reason. I am a believer in arming oneself against murder and rape of my family and I have some 20 years experience with firearms, but I am not dumb enough to openly carry any kind of a gun toy or real in public.
