If you don’t believe in Santa, there are no gifts under the tree because the parents spent all their money on guns and ammo. If you do believe in Santa, there are no gifts because Santa’s afraid of getting shot.
Say, I could draw a cartoon with a bunch of like minded, foul mouthed, low life cartoonists cramming a room with a lonely Christmas tree and a kid asking why Santa never visits.
The point, according to those parents, is not that Santa never visits. It’s that the Grinch never visits — or if he does, he’ll get plugged right in his two-sizes-too-small heart.
StippleHerod was a puppet. He could put down a “threat to Roman security”, but not much else. Augustus had lots of censae(?). This was merely the first of many under the new Cyrenean governor (who had the real local power). Augustus had to make sure he was getting all his taxes from those without representation.
I have a number of firearms, for different purposes, but no “assault” style weapons like the M-16 (or M-60) I used in ‘Nam, because I don’t need to pursue that purpose here. I also have a rifle that is typical hunting rifle, with 5 round capacity, that IS the same model weapon I used for a while in ’Nam, though different caliber, and no “bull” barrel.
As a firearms owner, in a “gun owners caucus”, and a member of a gun club, but only so I can use the range, it’s very noticeable to me the “mental attitude” of those who DO seek out these “military style” weapons, the gleam in the eye, and the difference in posture when they handle them. There IS a difference, and as a combat veteran, it’s a little scary. That these weapons ARE designed to kill people, and for combat, not killing deer, rabbits, or even elephants, does carry a mental adjustment in the owners. Even “home protection” takes on a somewhat sinister tone, with the INTENT that these weapons are indeed for the purpose of killing people, as in “home invaders”, who pose little to no threat, especially in the actual neighborhoods where so many of these weapons are found. Handguns are a different matter, as concealable, or small weapons make more sense in an environment where even storing a weapon has physical limits. (Note, the wall coverings in the toon haven’t much basis in reality.)
BTW: I live less than a mile from a prison, rarely if ever lock my doors, but my firearms ARE locked up in gun safes. I’m not afraid of my neighbors, even the actual criminal element, but then, having survived combat, and law enforcement, I place my fear in more rational places, like the thought that Trump could be a serious candidate.

Santa and helper spent it all on guns & ammo. That kid eats grits for brekkie. And lunch. Maybe a spud for dinner.

Like this cartoon represents gun owners anywhere?

I guess there would at least be a nice little pink 22 auto under the tree for the kid.

Because, the Last time Santa came to their house, he left with 3 bullet wounds and barely made it to the Emergency room..
