My neighbor got an application to fill out for possible future jury duty. He was all upset, saying he really didn’t want to do jury duty. So I said not to bother filling it out and sending it back. He looked at me with a frown, and said “Can you do that?”
In my state, at some point we age out and don’t have to go any more. I have had to sit for hours just to be told to go home, multiple times. Generally, it’s a situation where they make a settlement while we wait.
