The gentleman holding the sign is Rick Scott, the Republican governor of the swing state of Florida, the one with the deeply Republican legislature.Depending on your point of view, the text balloon is completely right, and it will be fixed by the highly successful policies seen in Kansas, or, the text balloon is completely right, and nothing can be done about it.
That’s fine as far as humans are concerned. But humans are the least of the victims. There is a lot of flora and fauna which will be exterminated in the rising seas (bye, bye Everglades). What hasn’t already been killed by habitat destruction (development, farming, mining, highways, etc.), poisons, and the like, that is.
The problem with Republicans is not the absolute numbers they have, but that they are masters at trading on fear and get their base fired up, so they go vote often. Democrats not so much. And once in control, the elephants have no hesitation in changing laws to guarantee their control of an uneducated, impoverished, unhealthy, paranoid but compliant populace. All to better serve their corporate masters.
Under the Republicans, my freedoms weren’t taken away. I have lost more in the past 7 years: salary, rights and free speech -without reprisal and fear of being sued or mocked for having an opinion that is mine!
He’s not the only one long creatin that huge sucking sound over Florida. JEB getting his daughter off on drug charges with community service instead of hard prison time, which he and Rush advocated for ALL users and dealers, was just one example of corruption.

This is what people should be afraid of instead of an occasional morons who blow themselves up. He should have had Donald Trump holding the sign.
