if we’re trying to win the war of course it’s unwinnable

if we’re trying to help afghanistan help herself, not force her into democracy, we got it

remember they are a tribal country, and to try to change a whole nation into our own image, like bush did, is ludicrous

furthermore, there will always be battles between tribes - we’ll never change that

^you can’t help someone who won’t help itself. There is no democratic movement in Afghanistan.

We have a similar problem in Afg. We can’t attack or really stop a major supporter. Pak’s SIS seems to be more of an enemy than many we have.

fennec, I agree. It is an oversimplification; although, I think Afg. is closer than Iraq is in comaparison.

Kipling done by Connery and Caine was a good film, and object lesson folks might watch, as too few with opinions are literate enough to actually READ it.

I think you might find more than you expect here. Kipling came up around here not too long ago. I have a fairly extensive collection and what I don’t have, my library does.

Why do we keep trying to change countries that haven’t progressed past the first century, yet? Let’s focus on one’s who have advanced and have a great compassion for the human spirit.
