I’m suprised that after all her years of dog-walking she can’t negotiate a stile neatly.

LuvH8, have you really never seen a stile? they are the commonest way of allowing access for people but not stock through field divisions on public footpaths.

    LuvH8: It’s a ‘stile

A stile is a structure which provides people a passage through or over a fence or boundary via steps, ladders, or narrow gaps. Stiles are often built in rural areas or along footpaths to allow access to an adjacent field or area separated by a fence, wall or hedge.

    Thank you again Wikipedia.

Footpaths in Britain are open to everyone, regardless of private property. Stiles like this are used to let people through.

She looks so humiliating while she tries to climb over the rail of the stile. LOLs! Freddy, you are smart to go through that thick bushes without any problem, no scratch or cut.

Still find stiles, from time to time, in VA, particularly in places where the Appalachian trail crosses private land.

Haven’t seen a stile used in a very long time.
