KAL, this is Dumb. You’re making the same mistake (ignoring the sordid details surrounding the CECIL event) that so many other pundits are making. If, (for sport and conservation reasons, of course,) you wounded a human in the ass with an arrow, and tracked it for 40 hours before finishing it off, (again, just for fun, I mean, as a sport) I do think that act would also tick off Uncle Sam, huh???
We Humans are quite used to abusing and killing eachother off. Fortunately, many of us care enough about other species that we do rightfully become upset when our violent tendencies overtake animals who are simply living, and tending to their own business.During the American Civil War, and World War I, many soldiers on all sides (mostly those who grew up on farms) deplored the carnage inflicted on the horses and mules which carried food and ammunition to them, and carried back the human wounded.

Uh, giving the cops weapons and MRAPS is “defanging them”?
I like GOOD police, been there, done that, but don’t like BAD cops, OR militarizing civilian forces.
