    Yeah walking dictionary doesn’t imply smartness, nor does walking encyclopaedia, nor does having a 100+ IQ.

    i had a department head who liked to use big words, too bad he never learned when to use them or what they actually meant

    Yes, indeed, vlechtja. Intelligence is knowing the correct word to say; wisdom is knowing when to say nothing.

    Vocabulary is like math. If you don’t use it, you may lose it.

    But, like most things: it is not what you have, it is how you use it that matters.
