He replies, “If circumcision had a value the father would beget them that way from the mother.” The simple truth of this no nonsense reply impressed me when I first read it and still does. Originally just a small circle of flesh was removed. When Jews started stretching what was left to make it look whole so they could engage naked in Greek games the type of circumcision we now have was introduced.
