On the other hand, i have had the experience of taking a developmentally disabled resident to the ER at 230PM for possible stroke, only to not get him treated until almost 4AM…long after the severe cases like hangnails, flatulence and the football team’s pigeon-toed placekicker, were dealt with and sent home….

I used to have to monitor activity at the Minor Injuries Unit at the hospital where I worked. Somebody walked (or more probably staggered) in one night after having just been stabbed through the heart a couple of minutes beforehand – he was pounced on, poured onto a trolley and whisked off to theatre all in about 30 seconds. If you think somebody’s had a stroke here in Scotland you call for an ambulance and the first set of emergency paramedics will usually be with you within eight minutes, unless you’re in a very remote area.

Actually it sounds like Kennel Cough. Very bad for dogs.

A friend took her mom to the ER after she took a handful of pills to try to commit suicide but then changed her mind. The mom was ignored for hours and died. My friend sued the hospital and won a settlement, no real recompense for losing a mother, though.

A blissful Sunday to everyone.-——Many bad ER experiences in today’s comments.mI took my wife (now my ex wife) to the ER for a lung infection. A couple came in while we were waiting. The man had a large cut in his left arm. They made him wait so long that he almost pased out. My wife went to the person taking down info and told her about him. Instead of taking him immediately she made him wait until she had the info from the person whom she was interviewing. That hospital is still my last choice in the event of an emergency.--Have an abundant day my friends.

Did anyone notice in the final panel bottom left corner a leg/paw which COULD be Iggy’s? So all the pups agree to get immediate help for the pooch with bad cough. Good for them!

I’ve used the local emergency five times since I moved here. Triaged in under ten minutes every time and seeing a doctor in at most thirty minutes. Canadian medicare does work!

Kennel Cough is quite contagious. The other dogs may simply be acting pragmatically. Then again, they’re dogs, not people, so it may be altruism after all.

Noticed the times on the wallclock in various panels advanced. The times are 2:05, 2:25, 2:35 and 2:50. Someone took the time to be correct timewise.
