Is that a reference to mellon balls a typo, or is this another synonym for prairie oysters?

Grog - Melon balls are often served on salad bars & buffets. They take cantelope, watermelon, etc. and use a little scooper (think miniature ice cream scoop) to make bite-sized balls out of the melon.
