BP must pay the true cost for this spill. State and Federal tax agencies can determine this by showing the statistical reduction in income during the time of the spill. BP can be assessed for the difference. But in addition to the human cost, they must pay for the damage to public and private property, the loss of wildlife and destruction of food sources.
Oh what the heck, just seize the company and shut them down.

I had originally thought that BP would be severely damaged. The Economist seems to think differently and I don’t like to bet against them on business issues. They have an interesting article on the mess:
I remember an interview where Shaquille O’Neal (sp) spoke of HIS mom’s “corrective” actions and his fear of her wrath as a kid. Maybe it’s time to send HER in???
It is interesting how many people who have retained some of their humility and integrity were taught by their mom’s, even in harsh circumstances.
