I’m not quite sure what he means, but it is funny, and all it needs to be a perfect Rall cartoon is some blood.

A good friend of mine who was unemployed for over a year just got a new job last week – and he loves it! Now that’s two laid off friends who are back to work.

I think it’s that the recent rebounds have been listed as rises in consumer spending and according to a lot of recent polls Americans are wading in debt and the average is like … 12 credit cards a person*. So somehow we have a recovery with consumer spending but Americans don’t have the money to do so.

    * I do not remember the exact card-per-American amount.

It would have been funny if the people therein were texting, as if nothing had happened.

    Greece like America? Perhaps…beware.

    ‘Nuff said.

“To the Mall!” The battle cry of pistol-brandishing and long-unemployed Americans everywhere!

    Yay!

Seriously, how much longer before the dam breaks and The Long Hot Summer begins?

Bruce, very succinctly stated. Thank you.

This situation has been in effect at least since the Nixon administration.

    Bruce:

That’s not how the government calculates unemployment figures, for the obvious reason that you state.

All Super Griz said [incorrectly] was that this has been the case since Nixon, not BECAUSE of Nixon, but who cares about what’s really said?
