Joe, you really need to find the original version of most of those stories to learn the moral.
My favorite example: In the original version of Red Riding Hood, the wolf at Grandma, then it ate Red, then it ate the woodman who came to the rescue. The moreal: Don’t wander around the woods alone, and stay the heck away from werewolves.
