Low paying jobs that Americans don’t want to do for themselves - that about sums it up for the life of so-called “illegals” immigrants. People willing to work these jobs should be blessed - not criminalized. Americans are lazy and it shows (obesity).

I think that job would’ve also worked in after 18 May 1980 in the State of Washington.

My older brother and I were born in Washington, but three and four years after that incident; our parents were in Arizona those 30 years ago at the time of the incident.

The Washington wine industry benefitted from that eruption. I have relatives there and got an up-front tour of the red zone. There isn’t a lot to disrupt in that part of Iceland - some small villages and farmsteads near the road.

Joe-Allen “Joe” Doty is correct in that employers are using illegal immigrants to drive down the wages until you can no longer make a decent living. Here in Charlotte NC all of the citizens in construction projects have been replaced with illegal immigrants. Yet almost no one ever says to go after the employers who are really the main reason we have an illegal immigration problem.

Go after the illegal employers! That’ll do more to stop illegal immigration than anything.
