@sundogusa – I guess I was lucky – I got my Osborne with a raging 2400 bps, even though dialup still is limited to 600 baud. You might be surprised (I was) going to the US Robotics website. They still have a large business in 56K dialup modems. Underdeveloped regions and industrial remote monitoring are still big business.
