It isn’t a borrowing issue, it is a trade issue.
We purchase all sorts of merchandise at artificially discounted rates, that the trade imbalance is huge. We buy so much that inflation in this country has been stagnant for years, as more manufacturing left the US for China.
We have trade with India, but not on the same scale as China.
