Bassets don’t howl, they bay.
Fred is rooting for the Mrs. to make it into the choir. No reason for the Mr.’s piano playing to be involved other than to help help her.
Glad to see that Fred is rooting for them to make it. As for a Basset singing (or howling, baying, etc.), I’d prefer to hear a Basset “sing” - rather than some of today’s performers who can’t carry a note.
