I think it’s supposed to be about conflicts within the Democratic party. Though why anyone would think that a party couldn’t change their ideology over 20 years is beyond me. I have problems with the Democrats platform as it relates to the importance of the federal government. But what Clinton said years and years ago isn’t one of them.
The whole basic purpose of government is that ALL (not 99%, but 100%) of us yield some part of absolute rights to the good of the community. Government is REQUIRED to regulate, to ensure equal rights, representation and opportunities for its members.For about 35 years now, the U.S. government has “strayed”from it’s most basic function.
